This is the most recent version of my theme for The GIMP.
It has been tested on Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard, PPC and intel, as well as on windows XP [Note that XP is an emoticon for scrunched eyes and disgusted mouth].
I would like to see screenshots of this on XP, Vista, or Windows 7, and if you send me one [c55inator@gmail.com] I will probably post them.
To install: Download and unpack the .zip file
Make a folder somewhere on your computer called "GIMP Themes" or some other similarly descriptive name. [If you are a power user, you can put it in the GIMP program files at /share/gimp/2.0/themes]. This is in the app bundle on Mac and in Program files on Windows.
Drag the "Echoes" folder that came out of the zip file into the folder you just created.
Launch The GIMP, and go to Edit->Preferences
[Power users skip this step and go to the last one] Go to "Folders->Themes" in the preferences window, and click the "new" icon to the left of the text input, and then the "file selector" button on the far right. Now navigate to the folder you put my theme in. NOT to the "Echoes" folder itself. You should have the "GIMP Themes" (or whatever you called it) folder selected when you click "Okay"
Seeing that a new entry has been added to the list of paths [in folders-themes], you can close the preferences window. IT will tell you that you need to relaunch GIMP.
Restart GIMP
Go back to preferences again, but don't go into folders. go into themes. Now choose "Echoes". If you don't see "Echoes", and instead see things with names like "buttons", "handles", etc., you didn't listen to step 5.
At this point everything should work. You might have to restart the GIMP again to get the menubar to display correctly.
